Listen and Ask

Listen and ask – a poem on grace and curiosity

I do not wish
To fill the enigma of my brain
With meaningless information.
I do wish
To fill the space in my mind
With meaningful knowledge.

If I’m interested,
I’ll listen
And ask questions.
If I’m not interested,
I neither listen
Nor inquire.

I value knowledge
Over mere information.
I value meaning.

And if I speak,
It is after listening
With grace.
