inner peace

  • The Release

    The Release

    In morn’s pleasant aroma,
    with gentle breathing,
    I released the burden,
    a shadow companion,
    not of the world,
    but whirled in my head,
a being of my own making.

    No irons bound me,
    clutching fast,
    but threads of thought,
    so tightly spun,
    today I let them loosen
    from their hold,
    to drift beyond
    the mind’s own edges.

    The skies,
    a wide and unsealed canvas,
    no longer stained
    by “what may be.”

    The trees
    whirled wildly in the gust,
    and I, at last,
    was given sweet release.

    For anxiety,
    that foul specter,
    was no more than breath,
    pale and dim,
    a play I’d written,
    a story I’d spun.

    Today,
I tear those yellowed pages in two.

    And where dread had sat,
    there is a garden,
    its tale told
    not in the icy grip
    of “what might be,”
    but in the radiance of
    “here, with me.”

  • Brimming Cup, Open Heart

    Brimming Cup, Open Heart

    The soft rustling of aloneness,
    not an empty echo,
    but a breathed in air.

    Space to untangle,
    threads of self,
    spun and known.

    No clutching hand required
to feel the pulse of the world,
    the wind a soft touch,
    the stars a silent knowing.

    This self, rooted and whole,
    offers not an empty vessel,
    but a filled cup.

    Love then,
is a giving not a clinging,
    two solid shores
    meeting courteously,
    the open sea between,
    respected, understood,
    a bond freely chosen
    rather than desperately sought.

    For in that solitude,
the heart discovers its own song
To truly sing in harmony .

  • Beyond Judgement

    Beyond Judgement

    Don’t mistake judgment for knowing.
    Don’t confuse lack of judgment
    with weakness.

    Before you know someone,
    you must first know
    and forgive yourself.
    Then you shall
    be blessed
    to know another.
    And when you do,
    you forgive.

    How can we
    receive and give,
    freely and genuinely,
    if we stubbornly block
    with a judgment passed—
    given or received?

    Is it possible
    to truly live,
    without dignity?

    What we take
    from others,
    we take away
    from ourselves first.
    What we give others,
    we give ourselves first.

    Forgiveness doesn’t appear
    after judgment;
    it is always prior.
    A choice.
    It is innocence matured.
    And clarity
    lights the path
    toward forgiveness.

    Don’t let the grace
    of forgiveness
    slip past
    your awareness.
    Don’t remain attached
    to the wrong relationships.
    Show up
    and be present.

    We can’t grow—
    if our bodies get older,
    yet mentally, emotionally,
    and spiritually we are
    at a standstill in time.

  • You Can’t Lose What Is True

You Can’t Lose What Is True

    You can’t lose
    What is true.
    You can’t lose
    What is authentic.

    You can not lose love.
    You can not lose friendship.
    You can not lose kindness.
If it’s true, it shines back,
    A beacon in the dark.

    Freedom is an accepting
    Connection between two.
Both are allowed to be themselves,
    When both accommodate growth.
A dance of give and take,
    A symphony of shared space.

    Two together.
    Be curious, learn.
    Avoid the harmful.
    Quench the fruitful,
    The uplifting towards the light,
    And the motivating to illuminate.
    In this garden of togetherness,
    We grow towards the sun.

    Save, hold back
    Shrink the comfortable
    Space to be,
    And you lose.
    For true connection
    Needs room to breathe.

    To love
    Is to give of
    The love within,
    For self.
    Love between two,
    Is love in
    The space between.
    A bridge of light
    Connecting heart to heart.

    Authenticity,
    A reflection of the soul.
    Be vulnerable,
    Reveal, don’t hide
    The true meaning.
    See the soul,
    In yourself and others.
For in this nakedness of spirit,
    We find our truest selves.

In the mirror of authentic connection,
    We lose only our illusions,
    And gain the world.

  • Yield

    Yield

    To learn, we must yield,
Like a river bending to stone.
Slow down to sense and feel,
    The world’s heartbeat, nature’s own.
    Experience unfolds in stillness,
A flower opening to dawn’s light.

    Love, wisdom, and light
Flow to gift and reveal meaning,
In the gentle current of being.

    Speed is a distraction,
    A chaotic haze,
    Blurring senses,
    Deepening shadows.
    A rapids, churning and blind.

But in the slow and simple lane,
    Beautiful life awakens, free.
    Dewdrops on grass, bird’s melody,
A world of wonder we rarely see.

    Like a river’s patient flow,
Wisdom carves its gentle path below.
Through canyon deep and valley wide,
    In stillness, truth cannot hide.

In the rush, we lose our soul.
In stillness, we are found and made whole.
The river finds its way to sea,
As we find our true identity.

    In quiet, discover your way,
    And reveal your spark.
Listen to the whisper of leaves,
    The silence between heartbeats.

If you want to live happy and free,
    Live quietly, wild and carefree.
A paradox of peace and zest,
In yielding, find your spirit’s best.

What whispers did you hear today?
In silence, what did you say?
As you yield to life’s gentle flow,
What truths did stillness help you know?

  • Mindful Equilibrium

    Mindful Equilibrium

    Seek balance,
    Or lose the present’s grace.

  • I am Rich

    I am Rich

    I am rich.
Wisdom is the oxygen in my heart,
Love is the light my mind.

    I am rich.
    In words that carry meaning,
In actions that are energy of kindness.

    I am rich.
    Each day unfolds new lessons,
    I grow, I change, I become.

    I am rich.
    Recognition feeds my faith,
    Wisdom shines in my grace.

    I am rich.
    Life flows in me
    Like a river
    Through my veins.

    I am rich.
    In breathing moments
    Of now and of eternal.

    I am rich.
    Not in gold or silver,
    But in being.

  • Humble Pursuit

    Humble Pursuit

    Egos we bend,
    And preconceptions are set aside,
    We bow down,
    To find the truth
    And see the light.

    Stiff minds break,
While Soft thoughts flow like water.
    In a quiet surrender,
    Wisdom whispers.

Our sure things are sand castles,
Washed away by new knowledge tides.
    Empty hands, open hearts,
    Make room to grow.

Truth’s not a thing to hold,
    But an expanding horizon.
    As we drop heavy guesses,
    Our steps get light, quick.

To see clear, we first say
    Our sight has limits.
    When we know we’re blind,
    We start to really see.

The light we want often hides
In the dark of what we think we know.
    Only when we dare ask
    Do we light our way.
